Bvlgari (Bulgari) Perfume by Bvlgari, Bvlgari (Bulgari) is a women’s floral perfume that was launched in 1994. It has powdery, floral, and woody main accords. Perfumer Sophia Grojsman of International Flavors and Fragrances, is the nose behind this fragrance, which wears well throughout the year.
This complex blend starts with head notes of carnation, violet, peach, raspberry, coriander, orange blossom, Sichuan pepper, and bergamot. Heart notes of Bulgarian rose, iris, heliotrope, orris root, Egyptian jasmine, and lily-of-the-valley follow. Base notes of musk, woody notes, sandalwood, amber, vanilla, green tea, benzoin, styrax, and cedar finish this mixture.
Founded in 1884 by Sotirios Voulgaris, the name Bvlgari is a play on the founder’s name and a reference to Bulgarians. Voulgaris, a Greek jeweler, migrated to Rome, Italy and established his jewelry shops to sell his distinctive designs. The flagship store, opened in 1905, is still located in Via dei Condotti, Rome’s center of fashion shopping. The brand has since expanded its offerings to include accessories, watches, and fragrances, the first of which was released in 1992.
