Realities (New) Perfume by Liz Claiborne, Released in 2004, Realities (New) is a women’s perfume with floral, white floral, powdery, fresh, and fresh spicy main accords. Best for spring days, this scent has moderate longevity and sillage. Perfumers Jean-Marc Chaillan, Laurent Le Guernec, and Pascal Gaurin of International Flavors and Fragrances collaborated on this fragrance, which combines notes of peony, orchid, violet, musk, ginger, gardenia, vanilla, jasmine, orange blossom, bergamot, and sandalwood.
Liz Claiborne studied art and then became a New York-based sketch artist and designer. Seeing a need in the fashion market for working women’s separates, she, her husband, and two business partners founded her design company in 1976. Her business was dominant, accounting for at least 33 percent of the American upscale women’s sportswear market by the late 1980s.
The brand name changed to Fifth & Pacific, Inc., in 2012, shifting its focus to other brands, with the dominant brand, Kate Spade & Company, becoming the new name of the company in 2014. Elizabeth Arden holds the now-defunct brand’s fragrance license.
